***IMPORTANT INFORMATION READ CAREFULLY *** COURSE FORMAT IS SYNCHRONOUS ONLINE LECTURES AND HAS TWO MANDATORY IN-PERSON EXAM SESSIONS at the BURNABY CAMPUS 1. Midterm Exam: Wednesday, 15 February 2023 2. Final: Wednesday, 12 April 2023 This class meets once per week for 3.25 hours in a virtual classroom AND requires an additional 2 hours per week as an online component. Course is 75 hours - 45 in class and 30 online. No class on March 15th (Spring Break).

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student is expected to be able to:
- Simplify algebraic expressions and solve algebraic equations using the basic laws of algebra.
- Find the domain and range of a function and use functional notation to manipulate, combine, and evaluate functions.
- Solve linear systems in up to three unknowns using a number of different methods.
- Formulate and solve financial, mixture, work and flow problems.
- Solve application problems involving quadratic relationships using factoring, and the quadratic formula.
- Solve inequalities in one and two variables.
- Solve exponential and logarithmic equations.
- Formulate and solve problems using common and natural logarithms (example applications will be taken from a number of different technologies).
- Solve a variety of problems in technology and industry using right angle and oblique angle trigonometry.
- Determine the amplitude, period, frequency, and phase shift for sine and cosine waves.
- Demonstrate calculator fluency for all relevant applications.
- Solve problems involving analytic geometry.
- Determine arc-length and use radians in angular motion applications.
- Using vector analysis, solve a variety of problems such as force diagrams and displacement calculations.
- Solve technical problems using plane and 3D/solid geometry methods.
