The “virtual classroom” or online learning environment is similar in many ways to the classroom environment. Take a few minutes to compare the online environment to the classroom setting to see if online learning is for you by reading the PDF document below. If you don’t have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download the Acrobat Reader here.

In the online environment, the more computer-literate you are, the less time you will spend learning to manage the environment and the more time you will have to focus on the course content. To be successful in an online course, you need to be familiar with:

  • sending and receiving email with attachments
  • searching the web
  • formatting documents
  • opening Adobe Acrobat .pdf files
  • downloading files

While studying online, you have access to further FAQs, other instructional assistance, and often the advice and tips that classmates provide.
