We’ve made it easy to hire a BCIT Trades Co-op student.
1. Send us your job description

Email your job description to CWE@bcit.ca. Include as much information as you can to describe the work and your company. Including a testimonial from a previous student or current new hire is helpful.
Not sure how to write a job description? Use this template [PDF]. Need inspiration? Check out some past examples.
2. Review Applications
At the posting deadline, the Co-op office will email the applications for your review if you have asked us to collect them. Or you may be reviewing resumes as they are emailed to you directly from the students. You will decide which students to interview based on their skills and potential fit with your company.
3. Conduct interviews
You can reach out directly to the short-listed students, or we can coordinate interview schedules. At your place or ours, or remotely by telephone, Skype, or Zoom.
4. Make an offer
Contact a student directly or ask us to assist in communicating an offer to the student. When making an offer, let the student know the following information:
- Start and end date
- Hours and days of work
- Equipment a student needs to bring
- Wage
- When you need their decision (generally within 24-48 hours)
