Microsoft Azure Dev Tools are developer tools and learning resources to support students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs.

This program provides access to several Microsoft applications (Visio, Project, Windows OS, SQL Server, Windows Server, etc.) and a $100 USD credit for hosted Microsoft Azure Cloud services. It is free for academic student use in qualifying programs.

Getting started

Access is limited to students and academic employees enrolled in the following Microsoft approved programs:

  • Computing
  • IT Management
  • Forensics
  • CISA
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Engineering Design and Technology

Academic programs that are not currently enrolled in Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching must apply through Microsoft.

If you are a qualified user you can start by creating and setting up your Azure Dev Tools education account.

Personal product keys can only be used once per student. Multiple installations are not available and reinstallation for lost, stolen or damaged computers will require a cancellation and reissue of your product key.

Free for approved STEM students and academic employees.
